Three Men Appear In Court Over Cork Cannabis Growhouse

Three of the new arrested on Tuesday in connection with a cannabis growhouse in Cork are due to appear on court today.

The three are Chinese nationals and were arrested when gardai raided premises at Springfield Industrial Estate in Youghal on Monday night.

A fourth man was released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP in relation to his involvement in the case.

Elsewhere, gardaí are continuing to question a Chinese woman arrested in east Cork on Tuesday and brought to Mallow Garda station for questioning about the cannabis growing operation.

Customs Seize 120,000 Illegal Cigarettes
Cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €57,000 have been seized by customs officers at Cork Airport. Some 120,000 Marlboro cigarettes were discovered in 12 suitcases that had arrived on a flight from Wroclaw, Poland. Garda arrested two men, understood to be Polish nationals, in connection with the find.

Woman Charged Over €75k Cannabis Seizure
A 34 year-old woman is due in court following the discovery of cannabis worth €75,000 in Athlone. The suspect is detained at Athlone Garda Station. She will appear before Athlone District Court today, Monday 20 January.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Raid
A man has been arrested following a drugs seizure in Dublin. The raid was carried out at Grafton Hall, Aungier Street, in the south of the city at around 11.45pm on Saturday. Gardaí have said a grow house was discovered at the premises and 101 cannabis plants were seized. They are thought to have an estimated value of €80,000.
