Arrests Made In City Assault Case

Gardaí investigating a number of assaults in Dublin City Centre in October 2010 have this morning arrested an 18-year-old man.

Detectives at Pearse Street are continuing with investigations into a number of assaults which occurred in Dublin City Centre on Sunday morning 10th October 2010.

Two males and one female were assaulted on Eustace Street around 3.30am. One of the males received serious injuries while the female and second male received minor injuries. A short time later another man was assaulted on Curved Street, he also received serious injuries.

Investigating officers believe that a fifth male may also have been assaulted on Curved Street and are appealing to him to come forward.

Gardaí believe that up to four men were involved in this incident. All four are black, and in their late teens to early 20’s. One of these men was wearing a red jacket, another was wearing a waistcoat type top over a white t-shirt.

These men are believed to have come from the Sycamore Street / East Essex Street direction onto Eustace Street and left in the direction of Temple Lane South onto Dame Street and onto Grafton Street.

Anyone who was in the area between 3am and 4am or who may have information is asked to contact the Gardaí at Pearse Street.

The 18-year-old is due to appear before the Courts of Criminal Justice this morning.

Man Charged Over Serious Assault
A man in his 20s is expected to appear in court, charged in connection with a serious assault that happened at Dorset Street, Dublin. On Sunday morning, at around 1.45am, Gardaí were called to the scene at an apartment at Kelly's Row. A man, aged in his 30s, was suffered serious injuries in the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Appeal For Witnesses To Early Morning Shooting In Dublin
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a shooting in Dublin this morning. According to garda a man was shot just after 9am on Thursday morning on Clonard Street. The victim has been taken to hospital but no details of his condition have been released. The scene of the shooting has been sealed off pending a technical examination.

Gardaí Appeal For Witness To Assault
Gardai are seeking witnesses to an alleged assault in Dublin, which took place in the early hours of Tuesday night. It is alleged that a female was assaulted by a male in his 30s at around 3.00am in the Hawkins Street area.

Two Arrested Over Thurles Assault
Two males have been arrested in connection with a "serious assault" that took place during the early hours of Sunday morning in Thurles. Gardaí announced this morning they had arrested two males, one juvenile and one in his late teens, in relation to a serious assault which took place over the weekend in the Thurles area, County Tipperary.
