Aer Lingus Strike Talks Continue

Talks are continuing today in a bid to avoid travel disruption for Aer Lingus passengers next week.

Following a ballot of its members, where 87% voted in favour of industrial action, IALPA / IMPACT wrote to Aer Lingus confirming its intention to take such action.

If strike action goes ahead some 30,000 passengers will face disruption to their travel plans from next week.Specific notice was given that, with effect from Tuesday 7 June, pilots based in Cork and Dublin: Will not work on rostered free days or annual leave days, and; Will report for duty one hour later than their rostered report times.

Talks between Aer Lingus management and the pilots union IALPA were adjourned after 6pm yesterday at the Labour Relations Commission. No agreement was reached, but discussions were described as constructive.

Talks will resume this afternoon at 2.30pm.

Aer Lingus Talks 'To Avoid Northern Strike'
Industrial action by Aer Lingus pilots in Belfast is still ready for take-off, despite a settlement being reached over the parallel dispute in the Republic of Ireland. The news came after talks aimed at averting widespread disruption took place on Sunday evening at the Labour Relations Commission in Dublin.

Threat of Cancellation To Aer Lingus Services
Aer Lingus have today announced that it has been served with notice of industrial action by the IALPA branch of the IMPACT trade union representing Pilots at the airline. Arann Flies To Scotland With Aer Lingus
Aer Lingus and Aer Arann have announced plans for a new route from Shannon to Edinburgh as part of the franchise agreement between the two airlines. From 27 March, Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Aer Arann, will provide flights to Shannon from Edinburgh five days a week.
