Co Derry Shooting Victim Dies

A woman has been fatally injured in a seaside shooting incident in the North.

The PSNI are investigating after the woman was this afternoon wounded at premises near the promenade in the normally quiet town of Portstewart.

The victim was initially described as being seriously injured, but has since died.

She paased away soon after the shock shooting took place at the launderette she was working in - which is close to the promenade in the scenic Co Londonderry town.

The incident took place at around 2.15pm on Friday afternoon at the premises off Harbour Hill - which are behind a block of apartments.

It is understood a man walked in and opened fire on the victim - believed to be a middle aged lady

Police are at the scene and the area has been cordoned off as an investigation begins.

According to reports, a teenager and a young child have been injured in an incident that gardaí have said is "ongoing" in the Parlickstown area of Blanchardstown. Two Held Over Attempted Shooting Attack Released
Two men arrested in connection with an attempted shooting attack in Dublin have been released without charge. The incident occurred at a car park next to the Islandbridge Court Apartments on 1 November. A Honda Civic rammed another car at the scene. Two occupants in the car then ran after the driver of the other vehicle and fired a number of shots.
