Man Arrested Over River Road Shooting

A man is this morning being held in connection with a shooting incident in the River Road area of Dublin.

The arrest is the first to be made in the case, which occurred in July of this year. During the incident, which occurred at about 9.20am on July 15, a gunman approached two men in a van in River Road, Dublin 7. The occupants of the van received a number of gunshot wounds and the gunman escaped on foot.

One of the men was seriously injured and both were removed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardtown, their injuries were not life threatening.

A man was arrested in connection with incident this morning in Finglas and is detained at Cabra Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 1939 for unlawful possession of a firearm with intent to endander life. He may be detained for up to 72 hours.

Appeal For Witnesses To Tallaght Shooting Incident
Gardaí in Tallaght have appealed for witnesses to a shooting incident at Parkhill West on Monday 18 January. Detectives are searching for a silver Volkswagen Passat that was involved in the incident. It is understood an unknown number of occupants travelling in the Passat fired a number of shots at a 06-D blue Mazda 3 containing two men.

Man Arrested Following Guns Discovery
A man has been arrested following the discovery of two guns in Dublin on Thursday evening. According to Gardaí, the man, aged 36, was searched by officers at Newlands Road, Lucan, at around 6.30pm. He was found to have two handguns and a small amount of cocaine. He was arrested and is currently being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.

One Arrested In Limerick Drugs Seizure
A woman has reportedly been arrested following the seizure of drugs worth more than €100,000 in Limerick. The woman, who is understood to be in her 20s, was arrested following the seizure of heroin and cocaine in the south side of the city on Wednesday afternoon. She is being held at Roxboro Road Garda Station.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of a fatal road accident in Co Kerry. A 24-year-old man died when the car he was driving hit a wall on the N69 Tralee-Listowel Road in Glenballyma in Tralee. The accident happened at about 21:45 on Saturday. A post-mortem is due to be carried out today.
