Dublin 'Kneecapping' Probe Leads To Arrest

Gardaí detectives investigating a shooting incident in Coolock, Dublin on Friday have arrested one man.

The incident took place at Adare Road, Coolock shortly before 1.30am when officers responded to reports of shots being fired at the scene and when they arrived they discovered a 22-year-old man with a gun shot wound to his leg.

They said there were two other men and two women in the house with the victim at the time of the shooting.

The injured man was taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as stable. Gardaí investigating the incident have located a car near to the scene which they believe to have been used by the gunman.

In a follow-up operation officers arrested a 24-year-old man close to the scene and he was taken to Ballymun Station where he is detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act, he can be detained for up to 72 hours.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Arrest Made Following Dublin City Knife Attacks
A man has been arrested in connection with two stabbing and an assault in Dublin city centre around 01:00 on Tuesday morning. It is understood that a 31-year-old man was found with stab wounds on Grafton Street. Gardaí were then called to another incident on Chatham Row in which a 35-year-old man was stabbed and a 22-year-old woman was assaulted.

Second Arrest Over Cork Pub Shooting
A second man has been arrested over the unlawful possession of firearm in a pub in County Cork. Gardaí made the arrest yesterday evening. He is aged in his 30s and, according to Gardaí, is held in connection with the unlawful possession of a firearm at Blarney Sreet in Cork on May 21.
