Kildare Man Arrested After Body Found In Dublin

A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a body in County Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The arrest took place after the disappearance of Helen Donegan, a 30-year-old woman who has been missing from her home at St Patrick's Park in Celbridge, Co Kildare, since 6 May.

Gardai at Clondalkin investigating the case of the missing woman discovered her body in a vehicle that had been left in a rented garage outside the village of Newcastle, Co Dublin.

Gardaí believe the decomposed body was most likely in the boot of the car for a number of weeks.

The State Pathologist’s office was informed and a postmortem is expected to be completed this morning.

Gardaí made the arrest yesterday evening at approximately 5pm and he is being detained at Clondalkin Garda station under the provisions of section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Gardai are now appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity around St Patrick’s Park, Celbridge between May 4 and 17.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have been in Kilmactalway, Aylmer Road, Newcastle and Newcastle village between May 4 and June 22 and are interested in the movement of a silver grey Saab Estate with a Dublin 02 register and a blue Seat Estate.

Officers are also particularly interested in hearing about any suspicious movements around the Transport yard that were witnessed.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Body Found In Co Donegal
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Man Arrested Over Dublin Body Find
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Dublin last week. The body of Kevin Molloy was found at his home in Glendhu Road in Cabra, Dublin, on Sunday 01 February. Investigating garda said they believed Mr Molloy's body had laid undiscovered for some time.

Man Arrested After Body Found In Dublin
Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a 58-year-old man in connection with the find of a woman's body on Saturday. According to Garda the body of a woman, thought to be aged in her 50s, was found at a house in Woodlawn park Grove, Firhouse, by emergency services at about 13:30. A post-mortem is to be carried out at Tallaght Hospital.
