SIPTU Ordered To Pay Legal Costs
SIPTU has been ordered to pay the legal costs for a High Court case won by the Dublin Airport Authority and Ryanair last week.
The airline and the DAA took the union to court seeking an injunction against a planned work stoppage.
The case went against SIPTU and the strike action was cancelled.
The union has subsequently been ordered to pay DAA's and Ryanair's legal costs in bring the case.
However, the ruling has stayed, pending a full hearing, according to RTÉ.

The Public Health Agency (PHA) has announced that it has been made aware of a third confirmed case of measles in the Republic of Ireland. It is understood that the case was confirmed in a resident of Ireland who had arrived back in the country from Abu Dhabi on Saturday 9 March 2024.

Legal fees will cost the organisation looking into child abuse in excess of €52 million, it has been revealed. The official inquiry into abuse by state sponsored agencies is expected to have cost between €126 and €136m in total according to a report published today by the state Comptroller.

Govt Support Legal Services Sector Brexit Initiative
The Government has agreed to support the joint initiative of the Bar of Ireland, the Law Society and the wider legal community in promoting Ireland as a leading centre globally for international legal services. The initiative, which is also being supported by IDA Ireland, will now form a component of the Government's Brexit strategy.
