Man Shot In Car 'Seriously Injured'
A man has been seriously injured in Limerick after he was shot while sitting in a car.
The incident occurred at approximately 9.30pm last night when a man aged in his 20s sustained gunshot wounds while sitting in the car near the town centre. He was taken to Mid Western Regional Hospital where condition is described as critical.
The victim was sitting in a car along with two others when a man approached and fired a number of shots.
It is understood he was shot in the head.
The Emergency Response Unit and members of the Armed Regional Support units were on duty in the city at the time of the incident and were at the scene within minutes.
Gardai at Henry Street say they are investigating the circumstances of the shooting incident, which took place in St John's Square, Limerick.
This morning, Gardaí reported that during a follow up operation two males and one female all aged in their 20s were arrested.
They are currently detained at Henry St. and Roxboro Rd. Garda Stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
Gardai are appealing to anyone in the vicinity St John's Square this evening between 9pm and 10pm to contact them.

Man Dies In Limerick Collision
A man has died in a crash in Co Limerick. The car veered off the road and hit a ditch at Dromsallagh at around 4.15am on Sunday, 05 June. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man is currently being treated for his injuries at the University Hospital Limerick. The road has been re-opened.

A man has died in a road crash in Waterford. The collision, between a truck and a car, happened on the N25 just after Kilmacthomas at around 7.50am on Tuesday, 10 May. The man, aged in his late 20's, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck did not require medical attention.
