Sex Abuse Victims Met Archbishop
Victims of alleged clerical child sex abuse and a member of the representative 'One in Four' campaign group are meeting the Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin today.
Today's meeting follows the summit between Pope Benedict and Irish bishops to discuss the fallout from clerical child abuse scandals.
Survivors said they are angry the Pope did not address issues they raised in an open letter.
Archbishop Martin said the meeting was just one way of dealing with the matter.
However, victims said that did not explain why their questions went unanswered.

The scheduled two-day winter conference in Maynooth is expected to focus on the damning report. Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Giuseppe Leanza, will be attending the meeting.

A claim has emerged that the Dublin Archdiocese is using parish funds to cover the costs of clerical sex abuse claims. It is alleged by The Irish Catholic newspaper that parishes donate funds from their cash surpluses to help fill a deficit in an account used to pay lawyers fees and compensation for victims of clerical child sex abuse.
