Two Held In Robbery Probe

There has been swift police action today after an attempted robbery at a post office in Co Dublin.

Two men aged in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation.

The gardaí probe followed an attempt to rob the post office in Bayside at about 9.30am on Friday morning.

Two men are said to have threatened staff and customers with a handgun and a knife.

One shot was fired but there were no injuries and no money was taken during the raid.

The men fled the scene on a motorbike and were pursued by gardaí in the direction of Bayside train station.

A motorbike and handgun were recovered by gardaí and they later said that two suspects are now being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Raheny and Howth Garda stations.

Donegal Post Office Robbery Investigated
Gardaí in Co Donegal have launched an investigation after a post office in Ramelton was robbed. It is understood that the robbery was carried out by three men, who escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.

Search Continues For Robber Involved In Post Office Raid
A search is continuing for a suspect allegedly involved in an armed post office robbery in Co Kerry. Three men stole a sum of cash from Waterville Post Office at around 11am on Wednesday, 03 August. The suspects left the scene in a small blue car in the direction of Cahersiveen/Killarney. At around 11.
