Help Sought Over 2004 Piltown Murder

Clonmel gardaí are today renewing their previous appeal for public assistance in relation to an unsolved murder.

The officers are seeking help over the case of 25-year-old Paiche Onyemaechi Unyolo from Malawi.

The victim's body was discovered in Brenar Bridge, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny on the 23rd July 2004.

They have revisited the case this week as it marks the fifth anniversary of her death.

A spokesman said: "We would be particularly interested in speaking to Paiche's husband Chicka, who may be able to assist us further the investigation," noting that police are concerned for Chicka's welfare.

He has not been seen since a number of days after his wife's body was discovered.

The investigation into her death is extensive and to date over 500 statements have been taken.

Police also said that the exact location of the point of discovery of Paiche's body was approximately 5km north of Piltown on the road to Templeorum, as this might help in their investigation and in jogging peoples' memories.
