Son Charged Over Dad's Death
A 22-year-old man has appeared at Nenagh District Court charged in connection with the death of his father in Templemore on Wednesday night.
Appearing in the dock just hours after the traditional Fathers' Day celebration had been marked across the country, James McInerney, of Templemore, was charged with assault causing serious harm to his 56-year-old father James McInerney senior.
The court heard that the accused made no reply when the charge was put to him.
There was no application for bail made and Mr McInerney was remanded in custody until 26 June at Nenagh District Court.

Eight people have appeared in court charged in connection with a major drugs investigation in Kilkenny/Carlow Division. A total of 38 suspects have been arrested and detained as part of 'Operation Clave', which targets the sale and supply of controlled substances in Kilkenny/Carlow.

Man Due In Court Over Clonmel Death
A 28-year-old man is due to appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court, charged in connection with the death of a 45-year-old man whose body was found in a house in the town at the weekend. The man's body was found in an upstairs bedroom of a house in the Carrigeen estate shortly after 2:30am on Sunday.

Two Charged Over Cork Assault
Two men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault on a businessman at a Cork industrial estate on Tuesday. A man returning to his business at Churchfield Industrial Estate at about 16:45 on Tuesday was approached by two men, who demanded money. Following a struggle, the 30-year-old man was left with serious injuries.
