Killiney Pub 'Extensively' Damaged In Fire

A fire at The Graduate pub in Dublin is said to have caused "extensive" damage according to the capital's fire authorities.

The pub, located on Rochestown Avenue in Killiney in Dublin, had been on fire since 10am.

The blaze quickly spread throughout the building, although all staff are believed to have evacuated safely.

Three units from Dun Laoghaire fire station were called to the scene, along two additional units from Donnybrook. An additional tanker was then requested due to low water pressure in the area.

A number of gardaí were on hand to assist as roads around the pub were closed off.

Reports say a part of the roof of the premises had caved in as fire fighters tried to extinguish the flames. It took two hours to bring the fire under control, with some units remaining at the scene as smoke rose from the building.

The full extent of damage is not yet known, and at present

Sally Glen Road and Rochestown Avenue between the Killiney Shopping Centre and Johnstown Road are closed.
