Man Arrested In Connection With Scrumpy Jacks Murder
A man has been arrested in connection with the infamous murder of a man in a Dublin pub.
Gardai investigating the murder of John Carroll have arrested a 27-year-old man on Tuesday morning.
He was arrested in the Dublin 8 area and is currently detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under the Offences Against The State Act.
In the incident, John Carroll, who was in his 30s, died after what was thought to be a gang-related shooting.
Two men pulled up on a motorcycle outside a Scrumpy Jacks public house before the pillion passenger went inside and singled out a 33-year-old man.
He then shot him a number of times at short range with a handgun.
The incident took place at the Grumpy Jack's pub in the Coombe area at about 9.45pm on the 28th of February.
The injured man was taken to St James's Hospital where he died a short time later.
Gardaí said both suspects were wearing helmets and made their getaway on the motorcycle in the direction of Dean Street.
The victim was known to gardaí and was under investigation by a number of local and specialist units, including the Garda National Drugs Unit.

Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Missing 25-Year-Old Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 25-year-old man who was missing from Harcourt Street in Dublin has been found safe and well, Gardaí have reported. Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. However, Mr Quinn has now been found and Gardaí said they wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.

Heroin and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €1m, has been recovered in a house search in Ballyfermot on Tuesday. Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.
