Man Injured During Attack
A man has received serious head injuries during what is believed to be an assault in Tipperary last night.
Gardai in Tipperary Town are investigating the alleged assault, which took place on Main Street in Bansha, Co Tipperary on Wednesday between 9.00pm and 10pm, in which a 29-year-old man was injured.
The man was taken to Clonmel Hospital and subsequently transferred to Cork University Hospital with head injuries.
Gardai have launched an appeal for public assistance over the incident, and are seeking witnesses to the assault or to events prior to or subsequent to the assault.
Gardai are interested in hearing from anyone who was in the Bansha area, which is on the main Waterford to Limerick Road.
Officers are particularly interested for anyone who was on Main Street between 9.30pm and 10pm to contact them on 062-80670 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.

Two Stabbed In Tipperary Dispute
Two young men are being treated in hospital after they received serious stab wounds in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary last night. Gardai found the two men lying on the street at around midnight and have said that the men are lucky to be alive.

Tipperary Man Gets Three Years For Sexual Assault of 15-Year-Old
A Tipperary man, found guilty of sexually assaulting the teenage daughter of a neighbour, has been sentenced to three years in jail, with the last year suspended. The 49-year-old man, from Tipperary, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his victim, denied charges of rape and sexual assault at his home on February 9, 2009.

Investigation Into Longford Body Find
Gardai are investigating the death of a 54-year-old man whose body was discovered in Co. Longford on Sunday evening. It is understood that the body of the man was found in a housing estate near Kenagh. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Appeal Issued For Missing Tipperary Man
Gardaí have appealed for help in tracing missing Tipperary man John Esmonde. The 38-year-old has been missing since around 22:00 on Wednesday 11 March. When last seen he was wearing a dark jacket, blue denim trousers and a black woollen hat. He is believed to have been carrying a brown shopping bag.
