Unionist Blasts Duffy Candidacy Speculation
An Ulster Unionist has hit out at claims a suspected dissident republican may be preparing to stand as a candidate in the forthcoming European elections.
There has been widespread media speculation that Colin Duffy - who has been charged over the murders of two soldiers at the Massereene army barracks, Sapper Cengiz Azimkar and fellow soldier Mark Quinsey, - will seek nomination as a member of the European parliament.
Mr Duffy's Lurgan-based family has told the media they are currently weighing up the costs of running a campaign.
Unionist MEP Jim Nicholson said any attempt by Mr Duffy to run would "offering nothing more than an agenda which would build higher walls and shed fresh blood".
Mr Nicholson said: "Northern Ireland has moved forward. Northern Ireland has continued to move forward. Change is coming and it's that change which people like Colin Duffy are so opposed to."
The MEP said all the political parties must take a "firm stand" against any candidate using this election as a "personal and perverted referendum on a return to terror".

Ireland's GDP To Grow In 2015 - ESRI
Ireland's GDP is expected to grow 6% in 2015, according to the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI). In its Quarterly Economic Commentary, the think tank also forecasted a 4.5% growth in the economy for 2016. Declines in unemployment are also expected, with a fall to 9% by the end of 2015 and 8% by the end of 2016.

Fatal Fall Firm 'Had Statutory Documents'
The tragic death of a Monaghan woman who fell into an unprotected light well was recalled last week in court. The construction company involved was fined €10,000 for a breach of legislation after the elderly woman died when she fell off an un-protected wall at Gallagher's Hotel, Letterkenny.

'Abuse' Claim Delays Massereene Murder Trail
There has been a second delay in the court investigation into the murder of two soldiers by Real IRA gunmen. The delay came amid claims that accused man Colin Duffy was subjected to sexual and physical abuse during a prison strip-search.
