Housefire Claims Three Lives In Drogheda

Three people have died and at least two others have been injured in a house fire in Co Louth.

Of the three fatalities in the fire, ages ranged from six to 22 years of age, but there is no breakdown of sexes as of yet.

Gardaí at Drogheda are investigating the incident that occurred at a house in the Moneymore Estate in the town, and have so far confirmed they are all members of the one family.

The fire was brought to the attention of Gardaí at 8am this morning by Drogheda fire service.

The deceased as well as all of the injured have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

According to reports, the fire has been put out and the house is currently being searched for one person who is unaccounted for.

Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.

Fire That Killed 68-Year-Old 'Not Suspicious'
A 68-year-old man has died in a house fire in Co Louth. The man, who lived alone, was found in the sitting room of the house on Hand Street, Drogheda, Co Louth. It is understood that the fire is thought to have started in the kitchen of the house.

Woman Arrested Over Drogheda House Fire
Gardaí investigating a house fire in Drogheda, in which two people were injured, have arrested a 26-year-old woman. The woman was arrested on Sunday over a fire which happened at a property in Choard Rod, Drogheda, Co Louth in the early hours of Sunday morning. Three men also arrested in connection with the fire have been released without charge.
