Cliffs Of Moher, Wonder Of The World?

Ireland's falling tourism rate could be getting a much-needed boost, as the famous Cliffs of Moher could be set to be named one of the new seven natural wonders of the world.

One of Ireland's most famous landmarks, the eight kilometre cliff face on the coast of Co Clare are one of Ireland's most popular tourist attractions.

The beauty spot has been entered into an international competition being run by the New 7 Wonders of Nature campaign which aims to raise awareness of the incredible beauty and variety of nature around the world.

Director of the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience Katherine Webster said: "We are very proud that the Cliffs of Moher have been selected as the official Irish nominee for the competition."

"Let's spread the word and tell everyone at home and abroad to vote for the Cliffs of Moher," she urged.
