Man Dies In Cliffs Of Moher Fall

A man has died in a fall from the Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare.

A man, said to be an Indian national student at a Dublin University, is understood to have been attempting to take a photograph at the Cliffs at around 3.15pm when he fell.

A number of people witnessed the man fall and immediately alerted emergency services, with the Irish Coast Guard at Doolin and the Shannon-based Rescue 115 helicopter responding to the incident.

According to reports, the man was located and pulled from the water by the helicopter winchman before being rushed to Doolin, where Irish Coast Guard and Garda were waiting.

The man was given emergency medical treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later. His body was then transported to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem and formal identification will be carried out.

Gardaí are said to have spoken to a number of people at the scene and are treating the death as a tragic accident.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Dublin Man Dies After Falling From A Balcony In Italy
An Irish man has reportedly died after falling from a balcony in Italy. The 24-year-old, believed to be from Dublin, is thought to have fallen from a balcony at an apartment in the municipality of Naples. The man was living in the city and working as a teacher. The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to his family.
