Cash Van Robbed Near Dublin Airport

Further details have emerged following a cash-in-transit van robbery near Dublin airport.

After early reports of the raid on Tuesday morning, Gardaí have revealed the raid took place at a branch of the Ulster Bank situated near the Coachman's Inn, a landmark pub a short distance from the airport, and the Fingal Golf Centre in Cloghran, Swords.

The incident is reported to have occurred around 10.00am involving a Group 4 Securicor van, which pulled up to the bank to make a delivery.

Two men wearing balaclavas, one who is believed to have been armed with a handgun and a second man, armed with a shotgun, approached the security staff. After robbing the van, the two men made their escape with a large sum of money on a motorbike driven by a third man.

During the robbery one staff member of the security company received minor injuries to his hand.

A black Audi car, which is believed to have been involved in the robbery was removed from the scene around 12.00pm for analysis.

The raid took place in a busy area and early reports by witnesses suggest that shots were fired during the raid, however is yet to be confirmed.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Santry Garda Station.

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with a cash-in-transit van robbery early on Friday morning. It is understood that a number of armed men held up the van at about 07:40am on Cork Street in Dublin, making off with a sum of money.

Two Arrested In Connection With Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit van robbery in Dublin. The men, aged in their 20s and 60s, have been detained by Gardai in connection with the incident which happened on Fortunestown Way last October. Both men are being held at Tallaght Garda Station where they can be questioned for up to 72 hours.

Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery Foiled By Passing Garda Patrol
Gardaí have foiled an attempted cash-in-transit van robbery in Clondalkin, west Dublin. According to garda at around 11:20am two men approached a guard from the van as he made a delivery at the Bawnogue Shopping Centre, threatening him with a firearm.
