Galway Residents Issued A 'Boil' Alert

Residents of Gort in County Galway have been issued a warning to boil tap water before using it.

Galway County Council put the boil notice in place as a result of contamination found from the Gort Public Water Supply.

A spokesperson for the council said the boil notice was being introduced as a precautionary measure.

All businesses and householders are being advised to boil all tap water before using it, and the local authority is doing everything it can to rectify the situation.

It is believed the recent flooding may have caused the water to get contaminated.
