Intelligence Leads To Drug Seizure

Gardaí have detained four men following an intelligence operation in Co Dublin.

Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit, the National Drug Unit , National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and local units stopped four cars on the Kennelsfort Road, Palmerstown shortly after 9.00pm on Wednesday night.

Gardaí were able to seize 6kg of heroin that is believed by the officers to be worth an estimated €1.2 Million.

The four males, who are in their 20's, were arrested and are currently being detained at Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda Stations under drug trafficing Act. And can expect to be detained for up to seven days.

Cannabis worth an estimated €150,000 has been seized from a home in Larchill, Santry in Dublin, on Saturday. Gardaí arrested four men in connection with the find. They are due to appear in court on Monday.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a burglary in Balbriggan, during which a woman was threaten with a firearm while holding her baby. According to gardaí four masked men smashed their way into the home of businessman Lee Tierney.

Four Girls In Hospital After Aerosol Explosion
Garda are investigating the circumstances surrounding four girls ending up in hospital after an aerosol exploded in a house in Drogheda on Sunday. The girls are being treated in hospital, two in Crumlin's children's hospital and two in Tallaght, following the incident. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Five Suspected Dissident Republicans Arrested
Gardaí in Dublin have announced they have made five arrests in connection with an investigation into dissident republicans in the capital. Officers involved in the investigation detained a total of four men and one woman. Four of those arrested are aged in their 20s and one male is in his 60s.
