Parents Withdraw Children From School In Co Limerick

Parents of pupils are taking their children out of a school in County Limerick in a protest over the governments failure to fund building a new school.

In 2005 Kilfinane National School had to be evacuated for three weeks because of a rat infestation.

The building was erected in 1909 and pupils currently have to use outside toilets.

Minister for Education Batt O'Keeffe told parents funding for the new school will not be available this year due to Departmental overspending.

Parents have said this is just the beginning of the campaign.
