Plane Crash Survivor Critical

A man remains in a critical condition in hospital following a fatal light aircraft crash near Knock Airport in Co Mayo yesterday.

The man was a passenger in a small plane that crashed at Cloonamna just before 5pm.

The pilot, Markus Casey from Dr Mannix Road, Salthill, Galway, who died in the incident, is understood to have reported difficulties with the aircraft was en route to Weston Airport in Dublin and was trying to return to Knock.

Gardaí in Swinford are investigating the crash of the aircraft having reported yesterday that one male - aged 51 - was pronounced dead at the scene.

They said the second man was taken to Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar with serious injuries.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit, Department of Transport are inestigating the incident.

Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash

Two Die In Small Aircraft Crash
Two men have died in a small aircraft crash near Birr in Co Offaly on Sunday evening. It is understood the small plane had taken off from the airfield at Birr where the Ormond flying club is based. It was flying south when it went down just before 5pm south of the village of Crinkle at an area known as Ballyegan.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.
