Body Found In Co Clare

A badly decomposed body discovered near the Ballina village is being investigated by police.

A man discovered the body at around 4pm yesterday as he was out walking his dog in the lands overlooking Lough Derg at Ryanich.

A team of technical offices are investigating the cordoned off scene and the State Pathologists office is to join in the investigation.

State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, is due to arrive at the scene this morning.

Gardi have been unable to release any information on the identity of the body due to the amount of decomposition the body has incurred.

This is now the second body under investigation by gardai. A body was also found near Bray in Co Wicklow earlier in the week and is believed to be that of an Elderly woman.
