Fresh Appeal Over Andrew Burns Murder

Gardaí have made a fresh appeal for information about the murder of Andrew Burns in Donegal last week.

The 27-year-old was found near St Columba's church in the village of Donnyloop, suffering from gunshot wounds, on February 12.

It is believed that he was abducted in Strabane, north of the border, around an hour before he was found in Donegal.

The Real IRA has denied any involvement in his death, although the INLA has claimed that his death is linked to a group called Óglaigh na hÉireann.

Gardaí are planning to mount checkpoints in the area tonight and are asking people to fill out questionnaires in a bid to jog their memories.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lifford Gardaí on: 074 9141000 or the Garda Confidential line on: 1800 666 111.
