Shootings Probed

There have been two shootings – one on either side of the border - over the last few days.

Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident that took place in licensed premises on Dublin's Barry Road on Saturday evening.

Two men made their way into the bar and approached a man in the toilets.

One of the men then fired a sawn off shotgun, wounding the 25 year old.

Both men left the scene on foot while the injured man was taken to the city's Mater Hospital. His condition is not known.

Most recently, a men and a woman escaped serious injury after shots were fired at a house in Coleraine, County Londonderry.

Two shots were fired in this unconnected incident, hitting the living room and a bedroom of a house at Ashdale in the Harpur's Hill area on Sunday evening.

One man was cut by broken glass but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

A PSNI spokesman said a motive for the shooting had yet to be established. Detectives in Coleraine have urged witnesses to contact them.

Three In Court Following Tipperary Attack

The other two men were released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding their detentions.

Man Critical After Tallaght Shooting
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot in Tallaght in Dublin. The shooting happened outside a shopping centre on St Dominic's Road shortly before 10pm on Thursday night. The man, who is in his 40s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital following the incident where he is believed to be in a critical condition.

Man Charged With Murder In Melbourne Hammer Attack
A man has appeared in court in Melbourne charged with the murder of Irish man David Greene. 31-year-old Luke James Wentholt appeared before Melbourne magistrates court via videolink.

Three Arrest Over Youtube Driving Video
Three men are being questioned by gardaí and two cars have been seized after a video posted on YouTube showed a group of young men from Nenagh, Co Tipperary, driving dangerously on a country road. The video, clearly displays the registration plates of the cars along with the faces of the young men involved, who are each identified by nickname.
