Ombudsman Probes Garda Raid Death
An investigation has been launched after a 22-year-old man fell ill and died during a Garda search of his home in Cork on Wednesday night.
Gardaí had begun the search at the house in the Gurranabraher area of the city around 7.30pm yesterday when the man - one of the occupants of the house - fell ill and was taken to Cork University Hospital where he later died.
The incident has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission. The man is reported to have been named locally as David O'Mahony, who lived in McSwiney's Villas in Cork.

Second Man Arrested Over Mikolaj Wilk Murder
Gardaí have arrested a second man in connection with the murder of Mikolaj Wilk in Cork last year. The 35-year-old, who was originally from Poland, was attacked by a gang at his home in Maglin on 10 June. It comes after another man was arrested in Cork yesterday morning and taken to Togher Garda Station for questioning.

Sixth Man Arrested Over Murder Of Aidan O'Driscoll
A sixth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of dissident republican Aidan O'Driscoll. The suspect was arrested in Cork on Sunday, 09 April. He is being questioned at Mayfield Garda Station. Mr O'Driscoll was shot dead in Blackpool, Cork, on 07 December 2016.

A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.
