Cork Warehouse Robbers Sought

Gardaí are investigating a robbery at a Cork warehouse in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

It is understood that three people entered the warehouse at Little Island between 3am and 5am and stole computer equipment.

Four employees were also tied up during the raid.

Gardaí said that the robbers fled the scene in a number of vehicles, including an Isuzu Estate with the registration number 89-C-17846.

Manhunt After Two Stabbed In Cork
Gardaí have launched a manhunt after two people were stabbed at Cork University Hospital. According to reports, it is thought the two men got into a fight with a third man on the ground of the hospital earlier today (23 October). The victims are receiving treatment at the scene, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Trial Hears Man Felt Suicidal Ahead Of Attack On Neighbour
A man standing trial for murder told gardaí he paced around his flat feeling suicidal before going to the victim’s bedsit and stabbing him, the court has heard. 39-year-old Lloyd Buckley told gardaí that he was contemplating taking his own life after taking some heroin and he called to the nearby bedsit of Michael Healy (62).

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a drugs find in Dublin on Wednesday. Gardaí say the find was a result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Lucan area.

Highly-Educated Are Majority Of Irish Emigrants
A disproportionate number of highly-educated young people are leaving Ireland, a year-long study of emigration has shown. Researchers from UCC's Institute for Social Science in the 21st Century and Department of Geography found that 62% of people leaving Ireland for other countries have a tertiary qualification of three years or more.
