Cork Water Main Bursts
Several areas of Cork have been left without water, because of a burst mains, according to reports.
It is understood that as many as 20,000 households and businesses are affected in areas such as Donnybrook, Monkstown and Douglas.
It is not thought that the water supply will be restored until around 6pm.

The government has been accused of putting lives at risk with its "failure" to put in place a 21st century water treatment system. Sinn Féin Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh made the comment following the publication of the Environmental Protection Agency's Urban Waste Water Report for 2014.

The proposed EU Water Framework Directive will not force any new government to retain water charges, Fianna Fáil's Spokesperson on Public Expenditure and Reform, Sean Fleming, has said. Deputy Fleming has said that the 'polluter pays' principal in the directive does not bind Ireland to the imposition of domestic water charges.
