Three Freed After Limerick Shooting

Three people arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Limerick city earlier this week have been released without charge.

Gary Grant, 25, was shot outside his home in St Ita's Street in the St Mary's Park area around 10:15pm on Monday night. He was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, but died on arrival.

A 20-year-old man was arrested shortly after the shooting and is being held at Henry Street garda station. An elderly couple - and 81-year-old man and a woman in her 70s - was arrested on Tuesday night.

Gardaí also discovered a handgun and a loaded magazine during follow-up searches in St Mary's Park on Tuesday afternoon.

All three people have now been released without charge and files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Man Released Following Dublin Shooting
A man has been released without charge after being questioned in connection with the shooting of a boy in Dublin on Friday. The six-year-old was shot in the neck in Ballyfermot. A man was detained on suspicion of withholding information. A file is being prepared for the DPP.

Three Arrested In Cork Shooting Investigation
Gardaí in Cork have arrested three men in connection with a shooting in the city on Monday night. According to gardaí a man aged in his 20s was shot a number of times by a man on a motorbike. The victim is being treated at Mercy University Hospital. Gardí have appealed for witnesses to the shooting, or any one with any information, to contact them.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Man Arrested Over Fatal House Fire Released Without Charge
A man arrested in connection with a fatal house fire in Dublin has been released without charge. A 44-year-old man died in the blaze which happened at a property on Oakland's Terrace, Rathgar, at around 3am on Tuesday, 21 August. It is understood the man had escaped from the fire before returning inside and suffered critical injuries.

Man Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Michael Devoy Released
A man arrested in connection with the murder of Michael Devoy has been released without charge. The body of the 41-year-old, from Ballymun in Dublin, was found at Foxhill on 18 January 2014. A man in his 20s was being questioned by officers at Tallaght Garda Station. He has since been released. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
