Armed Robbery On Dublin Petrol Station

A gang has escaped with a substantial amount of money following a robbery at a petrol station in north Dublin this morning.

A cash-in-transit van was held up by three men as it was making a delivery to an ATM on the Ballymun Road, just before 7am.

A shot was fired into the air during the incident and a member of the security staff was hit on the head with the butt of the gun.

However, his injuries are not believed to be serious.

It is not yet known how much money was taken.

The men, who arrived on two motorbikes and fled on one of them was later found abandoned on the M50 between Ballymun and Finglas.

Gardaí are currently investigating the incident.

Gardaí Issue New Appeal For Icelandic Man Missing In Dublin
A renewed appeal has been issued for help finding 41-year-old Jon Johnson. Mr Jonsson, who is from Iceland, was last seen in the Whitehall area of Dublin at around 11am on Saturday 09 February. He is described as around 6' tall, of medium build, with short brown hair and was wearing a black padded jacket.

Garda have reported that missing Galway man Seán Ó hIarnain has been found "safe and well". Gardaí in Clifton had issued an appeal for information on the whereabouts of the 46-year-old who had been missing since August.

Two men have been arrested during a series of search operations in the Larne and Ballyclare areas on Tuesday 27 September. Four searches were carried out by officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) assisted by the Police Service's Tactical Support Group and local district officers.

Pair Charged Over Ballymun Incident
Gardaí in Ballymun investigating an incident on Clare Road in Dublin 9 on 5 December have charged a 42 and a 43-year-old man on 7 December. At about 21:30 on Friday night, it was reported that a number of males wearing balaclavas had been seen acting suspiciously at the rear of a house.

Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery Foiled By Passing Garda Patrol
Gardaí have foiled an attempted cash-in-transit van robbery in Clondalkin, west Dublin. According to garda at around 11:20am two men approached a guard from the van as he made a delivery at the Bawnogue Shopping Centre, threatening him with a firearm.
