Crash Victims' Families Make Way To Phuket

Relatives of the families of the two Derry men on board Sunday's plane crash at Phuket airport, are making their way over to the Thai island today.

Aaron Toland, 23, who was was one of five Irish people on board the ill-fated flight, was confirmed dead yesterday.

He was travelling with friend Christopher Cooley, also from Londonderry. Mr Cooley still remains in hospital.

Ashley Harrow from Moira, Craigavon, was also injured in the crash but it is believed he is recovering well.

John O'Donnell from Liscannor, Co Clare and his friend William Burke from Nenagh, Co Tipperary, are also said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A total of 89 passengers are feared dead when the plane crashed on landing in bad weather at Phuket Airport on Sunday. There were 123 passengers and seven crew on board the flight from Bangkok when it crashed.

Air accident investigators are trying to establish the cause of the accident, among reports that say the pilot had been warned of dangerous winds as he prepared to land.

Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash
A man has been killed in a collision in Galway. The car crash happened at around 2.45am this morning on the Headford to Galway Road. The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Killed In Road Accident In Co Meath
A 31-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in Kilmore, Co Meath. The two car crash happened on the M4 westbound at approximately 1.25am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Naas General Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Man Killed In Co Louth Road Crash
A man has died in a road collision in Co Louth. The single-vehicle crash occurred at Rassan on the Dundalk to Castleblaney Road at around 7am today, 05 September. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The road has been closed and diversions have been put in place. Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

One Dead In N3 Road Crash
One person has been killed and two more people have been injured in a road traffic accident in Co Meath. The crash happened at Kilmainham, on the N3 between Navan and Kells on Friday morning, with the road expected to be closed for much of the afternoon. Motorists are being diverted onto alternative routes.
