Tarantino In Dublin For 'Death Proof' Premiere

Director, actor and Oscar-winning screenwriter Quentin Tarantino will be in Dublin on Friday night for the Irish premiere of his new movie 'Death Proof'.

'Death Proof', which stars Kurt Russell as a psychopathic stuntman who murders young women with his 'death proof' stunt cars, is being shown at the Savoy Cinema on O'Connell Street, as part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.

The movie was originally released in the US in April as 'Grindhouse' - a double-bill feature alongside 'Planet Terror', directed by Robert Rodriguez - but after underperforming ticket sales, in spite of mostly positive reviews from critics, it was decided to release them separately around the rest of the world.

Tarantino, whose other celluloid hits include 'Reservoir Dogs', 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Jackie Brown', is due to sign scripts and official merchandise from the movie at HMV on Grafton Street before tonight's screening.

Only those with a wristband collected from the store on Friday morning will be able to attend the signing and numbers are limited to 250 people.
