Dublin City Council is inviting people of all ages to explore the city's arts, culture and creativity as Culture Night 2026 returns on Friday, 18 September. As a key funder and supporter of Culture Night Dublin, the Council is helping to deliver a citywide programme that will turn streets, parks, public spaces and historic buildings into hubs of cultural activity for one special evening.

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Daryl Barron, said, "Culture Night is one of the most exciting nights in Dublin's calendar and a fantastic opportunity to experience our city in a completely different way. Thanks to the support of Dublin City Council, hundreds of free events will take place across Dublin, giving everyone the chance to enjoy culture on their doorstep. I would encourage people to come along, enjoy the performances at Wood Quay Amphitheatre, visit the Mansion House, experience Opera in the Open at Fr. Collins Park, and most importantly, discover something new."

Among the highlights supported by the Council are three flagship events that showcase the breadth of Dublin's cultural life. At the Wood Quay Amphitheatre, audiences can look forward to an energetic mix of music, dance and performance in the city centre. The line-up features breakdancer Leon "Aleon" Dwyer, Mexican ceremonial dance by the Calpulli Mictlan group, and performances from St. James's Brass and Reed Band and the Dublin Gay Men's Choir.

Visitors will also have the chance to delve into the city's civic heritage with free self-guided tours of the Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor. Open from 5pm to 9.30pm, the Mansion House has been central to Dublin's political and cultural life for more than three centuries.

Meanwhile, Opera in the Open, organised by Dublin City Council Arts Office, returns to Fr. Collins Park, Donaghmede, following hugely popular shows earlier this year. Running from 4pm to 7.30pm, this free outdoor event brings world-class opera directly to local audiences and remains one of the Council's most cherished cultural initiatives.

Beyond these headline events, Dublin City Council is supporting activities across the city, including programmes at Meeting House Square, Central Plaza, North Earl Street, O'Connell Street and Capel Street, as well as Hugh Lane Gallery's offsite events in Abbey Church and East Wall.
