Free Two-Day Dublin City Fleadh Returns Across Five Hubs
Dublin City Council has confirmed the 2026 Dublin City Council Dublin City Fleadh will return on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August, taking over Smithfield Square, Meeting House Square, Wolfe Tone Square, Parliament Street and Capel Street for a bigger, livelier edition of the free, unticketed festival.
From 12pm to 6pm daily, the city centre will ring to traditional tunes, high-energy céilís, mythical art workshops and spontaneous pop-up sessions.
Smithfield Square's main stage hosts traditional powerhouses on Saturday, with Sharon Shannon Big Band, Altan and Dervish, while The Scratch, Madra Salach and Kíla lead Sunday's bill.
Meeting House Square offers an intimate acoustic setting for special collaborations and duets, featuring folk icon Andy Irvine and Quilty, and the Máirtín O'Connor Trio.
Wolfe Tone Square presents recitals and céilís, including Na Píobairí Uilleann Piping with Wynton Moore, Aoife Fadian and Síofra Ní Mhóráin; a Harp Ireland recital featuring the Martin Family Harp Trio; plus dynamic sets from An Chéad Ghlúin Eile, Caitlín Nic Gabhann and Ciarán Ó Maonaigh, and Seán McKeon with guests. Outdoor céilís will be led by Trad is Amach.
Capel Street will host acoustic sessions from exceptional trad musicians, while Parliament Street offers high-octane sets from Faró, performances by the Fingal Mummers, arts and crafts, and family storytelling.
The Lord Mayor of Dublin Daryl Barron said: "It seems particularly poignant to talk about music so shortly after the tragic death of Glen Hansard. But Glen more than most of us knew the power of music and its ability both to bring us joy and to unite us. The Dublin City Council Dublin City Fleadh is a chance to come together and celebrate our love of traditional Irish music over two fun-filled days at the end of August. If you've never been before you're missing out!"

Halloween Fire Safety Campaign Launched
Dublin Fire Brigade's Halloween Safety Campaign, 'Be Safe Been Seen' has been launched at Dublin Fire HQ by tArdmhéara Críona Ní Dhálaigh. The Fire Brigade will work with Dublin Bus, An Garda Siochana and the DSPCA in an effort to inform young people about the dangers of illegal bonfires and fireworks.
