Gardaí Launch Investigation into Serious Assault in Tramore

Gardaí in Tramore are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault that took place in Tramore, County Waterford, on Tuesday 21st July 2026.

At approximately 9:45am, Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of an assault at a premises on Summerhill, Tramore. A woman in her 50s was taken to Waterford University Hospital to receive treatment for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the incident, Gardaí arrested a man in his 30s at a nearby domestic residence. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in County Waterford. A knife was also seized by officers and will undergo technical examination.

Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone who was in the vicinity of Summerhill, Tramore, between 9:15am and 10:15am on Tuesday 21st July and possesses camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, is requested to share it with Gardaí.

Missing Tramore Teenager Found Safe
A 16-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Tramore, Co Waterford, has been found safe and well, Gardaí have said. Margueritta 'Maggie' Goulden was reported missing on 8 January. It is understood the teenager was found in the Dublin area. Gardaí have thanked the public for their assistance in the case.

Man Arrested Over Waterford Stabbing
A 32-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí at Tramore, County Waterford, investigating the murder of a man, aged 25, in Seafield on the evening of Thursday 9 January. The man is currently detained at Tramore Garda Station. Both men were originally from County Kilkenny. A post-mortem is to take place today at Waterford Regional Hospital.

Waterford Man Missing
An appeal for the public's assistance has been launched after a 45-year-old man went disappeared from his home in Waterford. Gardai at Tramore are anxious to trace the whereabouts of Nicky Barry who went missing yesterday. Nicky was last seen leaving New Ross, County Wexford by car, a wine Fiat Punto with the registration number 98 TS 2461.

Garda Renew Appeal For Witnesses To Dame Lane Assault
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses after a man was assaulted on Dame Lane on Saturday 25 June. The victim, aged in his 30s, was found unconscious suffering serious head injuries on Dame Lane at approximately 11.30pm.
