Uisce Éireann will begin installing new water mains in Sligo Town in the coming days, increasing capacity in the local network and supporting future housing and sustainable development.

The project will deliver more than 700 metres of new water mains from Pearse Road to Crozon Park. This investment targets key parts of Sligo Town with strong development potential, helping to ensure water services can facilitate future housing delivery.

Works will take place along Pearse Road, from the Cemetery Road junction to the Circular Road junction, as well as on Crozon Park and Circular Road.

Delivered under Uisce Éireann's Accelerated Growth Programme, the scheme is one of a series of targeted investments to strengthen water infrastructure in areas with development opportunities and enable communities such as Sligo Town to grow. Farrans will carry out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann, with completion expected by late autumn 2026.

To enable construction, traffic management will be in place. Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times, and work areas will be kept to short sections where possible to reduce disruption.
