Dublin City Council Invites All to Celebrate Pride 2026

Dublin City Council, acting as the primary sponsor for Pride 2026, is calling on residents, workers, and visitors to join in a citywide celebration focused on inclusion, community, and colour. Aligned with this year's official theme, "One Story – Many Voices," the local authority is backing a diverse schedule of activations and events throughout the capital.

Ahead of the festival, the city will undergo a visual transformation to promote inclusion and belonging. Pride banners will dress the Civic Offices and the Palace Street offices, while Pride flags will line the River Liffey. Bus shelters and digital billboards across Dublin will also display Pride messaging.

As a major visual feature of the celebrations, Capel Street and Parliament Street will be converted into large-scale Pride flag installations, turning the road surfaces into colourful canvases. Additionally, Dublin City Council Pride pop-up installations will be placed across the capital to encourage engagement.

The festival programme will also see the return of Merrion Square's transformation into Pride Square 2. This free, unticketed, full-day festival venue will gather community organisations, cultural displays, and live entertainment in the historic city space.

Encouraging people to get involved, Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, said: "Pride is Dublin at its best. Colourful, confident, open and alive. As Lord Mayor, my theme is Celebrating Dublin, and Pride captures exactly what that means. It is about celebrating a city where every voice matters, every story has value and everyone should feel they belong.

This year's theme, One Story, Many Voices, reminds us that Dublin's strength has always come from its people. Different voices. Different journeys. One shared city. I encourage everyone to come into Dublin, enjoy the events, support the parade and be part of the celebration. Dublin City Council is proud to stand with the LGBTQ plus community and proud to help make Pride 2026 a joyful, visible and inclusive moment for the whole city."

Festivities will expand earlier in the week with the debut of a new central hub at Meeting House Square. Operating from Wednesday 24 June to Friday 26 June, "Pride Square 1 – Meeting House Square" will host community information stands, queer artists and craft makers, alongside a daily line-up of live performances.

The main highlight remains the Dublin Pride Parade on Saturday 27 June, an event that regularly attracts more than 100,000 people to the city streets. The parade is scheduled to start at 12.30pm and will run for about two hours, with members of the public invited to walk, watch along the route, or show their support.

Supporting the main festival line-up, the Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership will manage an extensive schedule of inclusive fitness, sport, and community initiatives across the month of June to provide varied ways for people to take part.

The full Dublin Pride Festival will take place from 24 June to 28 June, offering a mix of large-scale performances, community events, and local gatherings. Dublin City Council encourages everyone to check the schedule and plan their attendance.
