DCC Announces Return of Bumblebee 1000 Charity Supercar Road Trip
Dublin City Council has announced the return of the Bumblebee 1000 charity road trip, which will take place on Sunday 14 June 2026 to raise vital funds for the Little Blue Heroes charity.
Since its launch in 2021, the Bumblebee 1000 has established itself as one of Ireland's most prominent fundraising events. The unique supercar road trip features a spectacular convoy of over 100 high-performance and luxury vehicles travelling across the nation to support children living with serious illnesses. The initiative blends a passion for motoring with a charitable mission, raising hundreds of thousands of euro to date while delivering memorable experiences for the families supported by the charity. A core element of the journey includes special stops to meet the Little Blue Heroes "Honorary Gardaí" children.
Dublin City will serve as a central hub for the event, with the impressive convoy scheduled to arrive at College Green, Dublin 2, at 12 noon on 14 June. Members of the public will be able to view an extensive display of iconic vehicles, including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and McLarens.
The 2026 event marks a new milestone as Dublin City Council officially partners with Little Blue Heroes to assist with the launch and delivery of the road trip. This collaboration is designed to boost public engagement within the capital and provide a platform for onlookers to enjoy the spectacle while supporting a worthy cause. Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray Mc Adam, expressed his support for the upcoming initiative: "Dublin is proud to welcome and support Little Blue Heroes and Bumblebee 1000. This is more than a display of extraordinary cars. It is a celebration of community, generosity and the power of people coming together for a wonderful cause. On Sunday, 14 June, College Green will be transformed into something truly special, with Lamborghinis, Porsches, McLarens and many more remarkable vehicles on show. I warmly invite families, car enthusiasts and Dubliners of all ages to come into the heart of the city, support Little Blue Heroes and enjoy a spectacle they will remember for a very long time."
The event routinely draws thousands of spectators, creating a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere. A spokesperson for Little Blue Heroes commented: "The Bumblebee 1000 is about more than incredible cars — it's about creating moments of joy, connection and support for children and families who need it most. We are thrilled to partner with Dublin City Council in 2026 to bring this event to even more communities and make an even greater impact."
Members of the public, businesses, and local community groups are being encouraged to gather at College Green on 14 June to welcome the fundraising drivers. Further information regarding routes, event details, participation, and how to make a donation can be found at www.bumblebee1000.ie.
