Students Aim To Raise €10 000 For charity

Dublin City University Students' Union is aiming to raise €10 000 this week as part of its annual Raise and Give fundraising drive.

DCUSU Raise and Give, which encourages student participation in fundraising, volunteering and local community projects recreating an old-fashioned, community fair atmosphere on campus. Proceeds will be donated to designated Raise and Give charities which include Bees for Battens and The DCU Hardship Fund.

Health Complaints Get Website
A new website has been launched with a purpose of hosting complaints about the health service. www.healthcomplaints.ie will facilitate patients who feel their treatment was unsatisfactory. The new website will ultimately make it easier to complain about the health service. Seventeen agencies are coming together in the project.

AIB Must Raise An Additional €1.5bn
AIB has said it must raise another €1.5bn in addition to the €3.5bn being provided by the State to ensure its future. Stress tests conducted by Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan have concluded a total of €5bn of new core tier one capital is required in order for the bank to survive the recession.
