Gardaí Renew Appeal for Witnesses Following Fatal Collision
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses after a fatal two-vehicle road traffic collision on the N15 in Birchhill, Co. Donegal, which occurred on Saturday 16 May 2026.
Emergency services and Gardaí were called to the scene of the two-car crash shortly after 2:00pm.
Two men travelling in one of the vehicles, aged in their 20s and 30s, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other passengers from the same vehicle—a man and a woman in their 20s—were transferred to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive treatment for injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
The two occupants of the second vehicle, a man and a woman in their 40s, were also taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Investigating officers are urging anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
Additionally, road users who were travelling in the area between 1:30pm and 2:30pm and possess camera or dash-cam footage are requested to make it available to Gardaí. Anyone who was present at the scene and has not yet spoken with officers is also asked to come forward.
Those with any relevant information can contact Donegal Town Garda Station on 074 974 0190, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Motorcycle Collision
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a serious collision in Co Cork on Tuesday evening. At about 8pm, a man aged in his 40s, died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car at Lough Beg, Ringaskiddy. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and has since been taken to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem.

A 58-year-old male was seriously injured when his car crashed into a ditch at Kilmullen Lane. Paramedics treated the man at the scene, however, he was pronounced a short time later.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following a road traffic collision at Annesley Bridge Road, Dublin 3. A woman in her 20s was hit by a car at Annesley Bridge Road shortly before 06:45am on Monday. The woman remains in a serious condition in Beaumont Hospital. The driver of the car involved in the incident was not injured.
