Man Arrested In Connection With Weapons Seizure In Co Louth
Gardaí in Co Louth have arrested a man in connection with the seizure of guns and ammunition.
The arrest and seizure was made during an intelligence-led search operation carried out early this morning.
During the operation, garda seized a handgun, ammunition and other offensive weapons including a crossbow and pepper spray. They also seized €4,000 in cash and cheques, as well as a quantity of controlled substances.
A man is being held at Drogheda Garda Station, where he can be detained for up to 72 hours.

Gardaí in Co Longford have arrested two men in connection with cannabis herb worth an estimated €40,000. Officers seized the drugs during a search of a premises in Newtownforbes on Saturday night. Garda say that one of the men remains in custody and that their investigation is ongoing.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in an operation targeting organised criminal gangs in the Crumlin area of Dublin. Gardaí from Sundrive Road Garda Station arrested the man on Tuesday, 12 July, shortly after 9pm when they stopped and searched a car and its occupant close to Old County Road and discovered a firearm and ammunition.

A man has been arrested following a drugs seizure in Cork at around 10.30pm on Wednesday night. Around €58,000 worth of cannabis plants and equipment were found during the search of a house in Mallow. He is currently being questioned at Mallow garda station.

Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit, supported by Gardai from Meath Division, said this morning they discovered a cannabis growing operation and made a number of drug seizures in the Dunshaughlin area during the course of the operation.
