Meath Man Arrested Over Drug Seizure
A man has been arrested in County Meath during a Gardaí operation, which made a number of seizures.
Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit, supported by Gardai from Meath Division, said this morning they discovered a cannabis growing operation and made a number of drug seizures in the Dunshaughlin area during the course of the operation.
The seizures began on Monday evening when Gardaí discovered the cannabis growing operation and seized 340 cannabis plants.
In a follow-up operation yesterday afternoon two further searches took place. During the first at Culmulli in Dunshaughlin, Gardaí seized 450 cannabis plants as, well as 10kg of processed cannabis herb, while at Hallstown in Dunshaughlin Gardaí seized a further 150 cannabis plants.
A 54-year-old Vietnamese man was arrested at Hallstown and is currently detained at Kells Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The total seizure, subject to analysis, has a potential street value of half a million Euro, according to a Garda spokesman.

Cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 has been uncovered in a wooded area in Co Cavan. Gardaí confirmed they made the discovery on Tuesday at Drumgill. No one has been arrested in connection with the find, gardaí have said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Two Held Following Drug Seizure
Two men are being held following the discovery of cannabis and amphetamines worth an estimated €140,000. Some €20,000 worth of cannabis and €120,000 of amphetamines were uncovered when a car was stopped and searched in Waterford. Gardaí say the search was part of an ongoing operation.

A man is under arrest over the discovery of suspected cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 in Sligo. Gardaí uncovered the drugs, along with a sum of cash, during a search of a property in Ballymote on Thursday evening, 16 January. A male in his 30s was arrested and remains in custody at Ballymote Garda Station.
