Pedestrian Dies In Kildare Collision

A man in his 30s has lost his life after being struck by a car in Co Kildare.

The pedestrian was killed in the collision in Greenhills, Kilcullen, at around 10pm on Saturday evening, 07 December.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Naas General Hospital.

The M9 southbound between junctions one and two was closed for a time, but has since reopened.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s, was uninjured.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who was travelling on the route and may have dash cam footage to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Motorcyclist Killed In Co Kildare Crash
A 30-year-old man has died after his motorcycle collided with a car at Dagwelds Cross, Blackwood in Naas at around 7.30pm on Tuesday evening. The as-yet-unidentified motorcyclist was taken to Naas General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The woman driver of the car received minor injuries in the collision.

Elderly Man Seriously Injured After Assault In Cork
An elderly man has been taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in an overnight attack in county Cork. The pensioner, a man in his 70s, received a punctured lung and other injuries when he was set upon in a car park in Sleaveen East in Macroom. A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and taken to Bandon Garda Station.

Body Found In Burnt Out Car 'Not Suspicious'
The body of a woman has been found in a burnt out car in Co Kildare. Gardaí have said that the body was discovered at around 11:30 today in a vehicle on a car park in Eadestown. However, garda added that they believe the death to have been a "personal tragedy" and are not treating it as suspicious.
