Garda Extend Detention Of Woman Arrested Over Terrorist Offences

The detention period of a 38 year-old Irish woman arrested on suspicion of terrorist offences has been extended by a further 24 hours.

The woman was arrested on Sunday 01 December at Dublin Airport following her deportation from Turkey.

Her detention was extended today, Tuesday 03 December, and she remains in Garda custody at a South Dublin Garda Station.

She is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, as amended.

An Garda Síochána is making no further comment and there is no Garda Spokesperson available.

Updates will be provided when appropriate.

Investigation Launched After Pharmacy Worker Stabbed
An investigation has been launched in Drogheda after a Pharmacy employee was stabbed. Gardaí were called to Scarlet Street shortly before 08:30 on Tuesday morning to reports that an employee had been stabbed. The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

Man Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Michael Devoy Released
A man arrested in connection with the murder of Michael Devoy has been released without charge. The body of the 41-year-old, from Ballymun in Dublin, was found at Foxhill on 18 January 2014. A man in his 20s was being questioned by officers at Tallaght Garda Station. He has since been released. A file is being prepared for the DPP.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Michael Devoy

Man Arrested Following Cannabis Find
Gardai have arrested a man after 300 cannabis plants, worth around €250,000, were seized in Co Offaly. The plants were found at a house at Coolcur in Rhode on Wednesday. A 50-year-old male is currently being detained at Tullamore Garda Station.

Man Arrested Following Guns Discovery
A man has been arrested following the discovery of two guns in Dublin on Thursday evening. According to Gardaí, the man, aged 36, was searched by officers at Newlands Road, Lucan, at around 6.30pm. He was found to have two handguns and a small amount of cocaine. He was arrested and is currently being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.
