Major Search Operation Ongoing For Missing Man In Co Clare
A major search operation is ongoing in Co Clare for a man reported missing on Monday.
A joint air, land and sea search was launched last night after the man's car was found close to Blackhead Lighthouse.
The search has concentrated on the area surrounding the lighthouse, however, according to reports the man's car may have been at the site for "most of the day".
Gardaí and the Coast Guard's marine rescue volunteers began their search at 8pm.
Searches were also carried out along the main R477 coast road; north and south along the rocky coastline and in the area of Galway Bay around the lighthouse.
It is understood that searchers found a number of personal items, believed to belong to the missing man, on the shore close to the water by a Doolin Coast Guard search team.
The operation was stood down overnight due to visibility and for the safety of those involved but resumed at first light this morning.

Missing Galway Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Gardaí in Galway have reported that John Moyles has been found "safe and well". The 23-year-old, from the Rahoon area of Galway, was reported missing on Sunday. It is understood that he was found in the Dublin area. Garda have thanked the public for their help.

Gardaí are appealing for help in tracing missing Dublin man Greg Ward. Mr Ward, 31, was last seen in Blanchardstown on Sunday 3 May. He is described as being 6'2" in height and has a vast amount of tattoos and piercings over his body. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A major search operation is ongoing on Lough Ree in the Midlands after a woman went missing while jet-sking. The operation was launched on Sunday evening after a woman failed to return to shore at the lake, which borders Westmeath and Longford. Irish Coast Guard Helicopter, RNLI crews, civil defence and sub-aqua clubs are involved in the operation.

Six Due In Court Over Cannabis Find
A total of six men are to appear court this Thursday morning over the seizure of €200,000 worth of cannabis. The men are to appear at Sligo District Court charged with drugs and immigration offences at 10.30 a.m. A total of eight people were arrested in connection with the seizure on Tuesday.
