28 Arrests Made In Operation Thor Investigation In Kilkenny And Carlow

Gardaí have arrested 28 people in counties Kilkenny and Carlow as part of an Operation Thor investigation.

A series of planned searches were carried out in a number of locations in both counties.

During the search operations, 22 people were arrested for a range of offences including fraud, theft, assault, burglary, misuse of drugs, sexual offences, and threats.

Three cars were also seized along with a stolen bike and €2,300 worth of fireworks.

A further six people were arrested on foot of warrants.

Garda said that their operation was ongoing.

A man and a woman have been arrested after a search in Dublin recovered a quantity of drugs and a loaded weapon. The planned operation, carried out by Gardaí in Finglas, culminated in a search of a house in the Casement area of West Finglas in Dublin at approximately 1pm on Thursday.

35 Arrests Made In Four-Day Operation Thor Investigation
Gardaí have made 35 arrests during a four-day operation aimed at preventing crime, disrupting criminal activity and enhancing community engagement in the Kilkenny-Carlow Division. As a result of Operation Thor – 'Project Storm' 10 people have been charged and will appear at local sittings of Carlow and Kilkenny District Court in the coming weeks.

Over 100 Arrests Made In Organised Crime Sweep
113 people have been arrested as part of an operation targeting organised crime. Gardaí carried out some 236 planned searches across the country in relation to the investigation. Around 4,200 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €3.5 million were seized at five grow houses in counties Cork, Meath, Wexford and Dublin yesterday.

Searches Carried Out In Organised Crime Investigations
A number of search operations have been carried out across Counties Limerick, Clare and Tipperary by officers from the Criminal Assets Bureau. The searches are being conducted as part of ongoing investigations into the purchase of land, vehicles and other assets by organised criminal groups based in the region.
