Man Charged Over Gun Seizure

A man in his 50s has been charged after a handgun was seized in north Dublin over the weekend.

The man was one of three arrested as part of an intelligence-led investigation into an ongoing drugs feud in the area that has cost four lives so far this year.

A handgun, balaclava, a can of petrol and two cars, one with false number plates, were also seized.

The two other men were released without charge, while the man in his 50s is due before court today, Tuesday 17 September.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Man Charged Over Liverpool Attack On Irish Man
One of two men arrested on Sunday in connection with the assault of an Irish man in Liverpool has been charged, Merseyside Police have confirmed. 19-year-old Kyle Thompson, of Cockerell Street, Kirkdale, has been charged with assault and is due to appear today at Liverpool Magistrates' Court.

Man Charged With Wexford Man's Murder In Australia
An Irishman living in Australia has been charged with the murder of an Irish construction worker in Perth. Vincent Martin Crowe appeared in court over the death of Wexford man Kenny Meyler, who died after being stabbed in the neck in February. The incident happened in the Perth suburb of Scarborough.
